How it all started
The automotive industry is known for companies who care more about profit than their customers or employees. We want to change that stereotype. At Ionia Auto Repair we treat both our employees and our customers like family. We can provide the best service, fair pricing, and honest advice and still treat you the way we would expect to be treated.
Our story
My name is Chris Witter. I am an Ionia native and proud of my hometown. After graduating from Ionia High School I started detailing cars and have worked in various roles in the automotive industry.
The initial idea for Ionia Auto Repair started many years back, but the dream came into fruition in 2023 when we leased the building at 205 S. Steele Street. We saw incredible potential to grow our dream into the best auto repair in our hometown of Ionia.
Our approach
After 17 years of managerial experience I have formulated my own philosophy of automotive repair. There are one million different kinds of people in the world. Each person comes with a unique car and a unique life so they need unique service.
Cars are frustrating and can cause many people considerable stress. We want our customers to be relaxed and comforted knowing that they have someone they can trust. Our customers will be greeted with a welcoming smile and treated as a friend while we walk you through the process.
Our customers are never rushed and never pressured. It’s your car and it’s your decision. You will never be judged throughout the entire process. Asking questions is encouraged. You can talk directly to the mechanics and see your vehicle if you wish.
We are a family owned and operated company and Ionia Auto Repair is our home. Just like grandma’s house, the door is always open and the coffee is always on. Come in and welcome to the family!

“Ionia Auto Repair will treat you like family. Our primary objective is to apply our knowledge to your vehicle needs and provide honest and accurate information you can trust.”
